Three Months Already!!!

We have been full-timers for almost 3 months now. Since becoming full-timers we have stayed at Lake Lavon-Lavonia COE@ Lavon, TX, Lake O the Pines-Brushy Creek COE @Jefferson, TX , Cooper Lake SP-South Sulphur Unit @ Sulphur Springs, TX @Beavers Bend Resort SP @ Broken Bow , OK, Green Leaf SP @ Braggs, OK, Lake Lavon-East Fork COE @ Wylie, TX and Daingerfield SP @ Daingerfield, TX.

We haven’t gotten very far from where we started but we’ve had unexpected things come up that have kept us in this area. We started out with Dawn having an episode with cluster headaches. A few other things happened that we needed to return home for. We are learning as we go and we aren’t in any hurry anyway.

We’ve had some fun too. We’ve gone kayaking, spent the day on the lake tubing and visited the Cherokee museum and attended the Porter Peach Festival. We’ve jumped in the truck and drove around exploring.

We’ve stayed in a few new places and revisited some old familiar place too. We would have done more except the heat has been so terrible that we just don’t care to be outside for very long at all.

We are looking forward to cooler weather and new places to explore in the near future.

Travel Safe Dawn and Denise

  3. Sounds like you all are right on track! Remember full-timing is your life not a vacation and things still happen even on the road. You guys are on your way to a wonderful adventure. Take your time and enjoy the journey!!

  4. I don't think its necessary to travel very far, and just think of the money you are not spending on fuel.

  5. Congratulations on 3 months! It will just get better with time - the heat and not really being able to hit the road has been a temporary thing. Wishing you cooler weather.

  9. Congrats!! You've done well considering the weather you have endured.

I'm wondering if you might consider adding the gadget for search this blog to your home page? I'd like to reread your posts while you were at Lake O'the Pines, but don't know how to find them.

  10. As someone else said, just take your time. We are currently in a COE park in CT. Last month was in one in PA. Gotta love em! Hope to try a lot more around the country.

We went to a Cherokee Museum/Village while in OK this Spring. Wondering if it was the same one.

  11. You are my heroes for jumping into the lifestyle unafraid and loving it. Think of all the fuel money you saved by staying close for awhile. Soon that dreaded Texas heatwave (nationwide, actually) will be over and MY personal favorite season begins..I suggest the Blue Ridge Mt.s of NC...or the Aspens of Colorado (before the snow flies!)

  12. Sorry to hear about the cluster headaches coming from someone who's dealt with headaches/migraines their whole life. It sucks!

As for HOT weather... I think we ALL feel for you, LOL! It's not any better up here in Eastern Washington. We're pushing 90º with no A/C. Yep! It sucks!

But the good thing is....You're living the full-time RV lifestyle! Yay!
    Cheers! ~M
