Cold Front or Artic blast

Farris, Oklahoma
McGee Creek State Park
Weather Condition; High 50 Low 39, Windy & Rainy

This was NO cold front. It was an ARTIC BLAST! The wind blew like crazy all day yesterday and it rained off and on. The high was 50 and that only lasted a couple of hours. It then dropped after that.

The weatherman said this will go down in the books as a record for high temperature in the Atoka area on this date. It’s normally in the mid 60’s.

If this is any indication of what this winter will be like, it’s going to get COLD!

We stayed in with our electric fireplace on. The temperature inside was nice and comfortable at 67 degrees. We wanted cooler temperatures but not COLD!

Across the street is a group of people that have set up a little tent city. I think they burned a cord of wood trying to stay warm.

Today’s forecast is highs in the upper 50’s and lows in the upper 30’s with a 30 percent chance of rain.

We don’t really have any big plans so we’re just relaxing. We’ll be leaving here in a few days to continue our migration south.
