Last week the weather here was cold and rainy. We didn’t do much of
anything but lay around. The rain finally stopped and the sun came out.
Things are looking better, this is our forecast
Wednesday was the Ladies Luncheon. It was a salad luncheon. Everyone brought
something to add to a tossed salad and Dawn made chicken gumbo. Everyone seemed
to enjoy the lunch. It’s hard to go wrong when you build your own salad!
Thursday we drove to the post office to mail a few things and we
stopped for lunch.
On Friday, Dawn and I did some shopping. We checked out some of the Mom
and Pop shops along the bay. It was something to do. We needed to get out and stretch
our legs.
Saturday Dawn got up early and did laundry. We later went to Paws &
Taws for a gourmet food and art sale with friends, Anita and Bette. While we
were there, I won a door prize! The
prize was a free buffet lunch at Butter Churn Buffet. Yummy!
We left there and drove over to Market Days in Rockport. Market Days is
held every 3rd Saturday. It’s an open air market at the bay. They
have many different types of venders, most being locals selling their wares. You
can purchase most anything at Market Days, such as hand crafted items, metal art,
wood art, jams & Jellies, jewelry, hats, t-shirts and much more.
We returned home and spent the rest of the day veggin out!
Later in the evening we were sitting outside enjoying the wonderful
weather when our neighbors Peter and Judy came by. We were talking and somehow
the subject of hamburgers came up and we decided to go to JD’s Seafood for
dinner.
I realize we were talking about hamburgers and I mentioned we went to
JD’s Seafood, that’s because JD’s has the best burgers around.
Dawn and Peter ordered burgers. Judy had the fried oyster poor boy and
I had chicken fried chicken. The food is wonderful and the portions are generous.
We noticed a group of older men leaving the restaurant that were all
wearing matching shirts. I fell out laughing when I noticed what was printed on
the back of their shirts.
Way too FUNNY!!! They were more than accommodating when I asked if I could take a picture of their shirts.
