Our Happenings

Rockport, Texas
Saltwater Flats RV Resort
Weather Condition; High 82 Low 62, SUNNY

This has been a real crazy week here at the RV park.
First of all, we spotted a dog driving a truck thru the park!

Dawn baked coconut pies and man they were good! I didn’t it both of them! Dawn shared them with friends.

On Tuesday we had Happy Hour at Norm and Sheryl’s site. The weather was beautiful so we took full advantage of it.

Notice the men sat at a different site then the women.

Squirrels climbed the trees outside the window and the fur kids didn’t like it.

Our friend Bob installed a dead bolt lock on the door of our fiver for us. Bob is so handy to have around. He can do any kind of repairs. He got a whole coconut pie!!!!

This is Bob enjoying his Pepsi after installing the dead bolt.

Today we are going to the Corpus Christi RV show.

Hanging with Friends

Rockport, Texas
Saltwater Flats RV Resort
Weather Condition; High 67 Low 51, SUNNY

Last week the weather here was cold and rainy. We didn’t do much of anything but lay around. The rain finally stopped and the sun came out.

Things are looking better, this is our forecast

Wednesday was the Ladies Luncheon. It was a salad luncheon. Everyone brought something to add to a tossed salad and Dawn made chicken gumbo. Everyone seemed to enjoy the lunch. It’s hard to go wrong when you build your own salad!

Thursday we drove to the post office to mail a few things and we stopped for lunch.

On Friday, Dawn and I did some shopping. We checked out some of the Mom and Pop shops along the bay. It was something to do. We needed to get out and stretch our legs.

Saturday Dawn got up early and did laundry. We later went to Paws & Taws for a gourmet food and art sale with friends, Anita and Bette. While we were there, I won a door prize!  The prize was a free buffet lunch at Butter Churn Buffet. Yummy!

We left there and drove over to Market Days in Rockport. Market Days is held every 3rd Saturday. It’s an open air market at the bay. They have many different types of venders, most being locals selling their wares. You can purchase most anything at Market Days, such as hand crafted items, metal art, wood art, jams & Jellies, jewelry, hats, t-shirts and much more.

We returned home and spent the rest of the day veggin out!

Later in the evening we were sitting outside enjoying the wonderful weather when our neighbors Peter and Judy came by. We were talking and somehow the subject of hamburgers came up and we decided to go to JD’s Seafood for dinner.

I realize we were talking about hamburgers and I mentioned we went to JD’s Seafood, that’s because JD’s has the best burgers around.

Dawn and Peter ordered burgers. Judy had the fried oyster poor boy and I had chicken fried chicken. The food is wonderful and the portions are generous.

We noticed a group of older men leaving the restaurant that were all wearing matching shirts. I fell out laughing when I noticed what was printed on the back of their shirts.

Way too FUNNY!!! They were more than accommodating when I asked if I could take a picture of their shirts.

Rockport, Texas
Saltwater Flats RV Resort
Weather Condition; High 62 Low 41, SUNNY

The weather has been cold and cloudy for almost 2 weeks. Last winter we didn’t even have a total of 2 weeks’ worth of cold weather.

Anyway, we have mostly stayed in. We’ve spent our time cleaning and doing laundry. No fun in that!

Our friends Charlie and Carol came by last week and brought us a fruit basket and fuel gift card for taking them to the airport.

They are very sweet people. We certainly didn’t expect anything for driving them. We did it because we wanted to.

The sun finally came out this morning and it warmed up to 62 degrees. Everyone was outside moving around.

This afternoon many of us girls sat around outside soaking up the sun and visiting.

Our neighbors Virgil and Joy went fishing this morning and returned with a nice trout that Joy caught. She was grinning with pride.

The weather tomorrow is going to be nice again. Tuesday is another story. They are predicting some nasty thunderstorms. These storms could produce high winds, hail and flas flooding.
