What do you do with a stack of flip flops and a package of poly twine?
You make a flip flop door mat!!!!!
It took a couple of hours to stitch them all together. It turned out pretty good.

The Rain Keeps Coming
We've had to close a few camp sites at Lavonia Park.
They are releasing water from the lake but it's still rising.

Friends, Fun and Storms
Lavon,
Texas
Weather
Conditions; Cloudy, 73 degrees
We
spent our last 4 days off enjoying this wonderful weather.
On
Friday we had guest over for a hamburger picnic.
We
sat outside eating our hamburgers and enjoying the beautiful bluebonnets.
Saturday
night the weather got really nasty here. Dawn and I loaded up the dogs and
drove into downtown Wylie (5 miles)
to take cover from the expected high winds and hail.
We
have a metal cover over our RV and the truck will fit beside it so that it is
covered too.
The
problem being, we are perched on a hill and a predicted wind of 65 mph, I’m
outa here.
Anyway,
we found a bank drive-thru behind a 2 story building where we took cover.
A
few minutes after we parked, the wind got up, a flooding rain and lots of
lighting. A few minutes later, the power went out. All of downtown Wylie was
dark.
It
only took about 45 minutes for the storm to move past us. We arrived home a
little after 10 p.m. Our power was still on.
On
Sunday we spent the day at Lone Star Park with friends for some horse racing.
We had great seats at the finish line.
We
had a great day watching the horse’s race. We’re not big gamblers but we will
place a $6.00 bet here and there.
We really enjoy the seats on the dining floor. We reserved a table so that we could have lunch while watching the races. This is the TV on our table for up close viewing.
Dawn
won a couple of times. $12.00 and $24.00.
There
were nine races on Sunday. On the ninth race Dawn bet $6.00 on a horse with
30-1 odds to win.
We
laughed about how awesome it would be for that horse to win.
We
were still laughing when that horse won with odds listed at 80-1.
Dawn
won a whopping $238.00!

Open for Business
Lavon,
Texas
Weather
Conditions; Cloudy, 68 degrees
We’ve been busy. The park opened April 1st.
Prior
to the park opening, we moved our fiver back across the street to our last
summer site.
We’re
out of practice. When we’re on the road traveling we can load up and be on the
road in no time. After sitting for a while it takes longer to get
everything situated and hooked up.
We
did get moved and set-up. We also painted the storage buildings and mowed the
gate attendant sites.
We’ve
had so much rain since the first of the year that the grass and weeds have
taken off.
The
blue bonnets are beautiful!
Matter
of fact, it has rained so much that the lake has gone from half full to a few
feet low.
The
boat ramp at our park is now open and the campers are pouring in.
We’re
predicting our last season here will be a busy one!
Dawn
has pulled her atlas out and is already planning our path out of here this
fall. While Dawn does that, Odis is checking Google for 5 star Doggie Parks
