We have become Park Host.
That's right, we are now camp host at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. The park is located in the piney woods area of northeast Texas.
It's a beautiful park with 75 campsites with water and electric, 20 a/c and heat shelters, 20 screened shelters, pavilion, lighted fishing pier and over 3 miles of hiking trails on Lake Bob Sandlin.
The state park host many events throughout the year such as Kids Trout fishing, Boo Camp a Halloween Event, Christmas in the Park with Santa and a drive through to see the lighted park.
As camp Host we stay pretty busy. Our responsibilities include cleaning restroom, hauling firewood, hauling ice, picking up trash, cleaning up campsites, assisting with park activities, painting and helping out in the office. We also assist with any other chores the Rangers might need help with.
It's a new gig for us but we are happy to learn new things and like to stay busy.
