Saying Good Bye to Our Winter Friends

Rockport, Texas
Saltwater Flats RV Resort
Weather Condition; High 83 Low 65, Sunny

This has been a sad week. It happens every year just before spring. It's sad because our Winter RV Friends are pulling out one by one migrating back to the north.

Our friends Dave and Kathy gave us a present before pulling out. Dave made this beautiful walking stick. He made this walking stick from a diamond willow branch. It’s beautiful. Thanks Dave & Kathy.

Friends Joe and Betty pulled out this morning.

Our friends Marty and Gloria also pulled out last week. We've really enjoyed spending time with them this winter. They might return next winter!

We’re slowly preparing for our migration north. This summer will be different. We will be working as gate attendants for Our Lands & Waters Foundation and the corps of engineers.
We're looking forward to the next chapter of our lives.

Last night we had dinner with our friends Bob & Pauline. Dawn smoked a brisket and Bob brought a watermelon. The weather was so nice we dined outside.

Our friends Charlie and Fern came by to say good bye, They will be pulling out in the morning.

Another Birthday!

Rockport, Texas
Saltwater Flats RV Resort
Weather Condition; High 76 Low 56, Sunny
Yesterday was Dawn’s “55th birthday and she was a busy girl.
The day started out windy and rainy, so a few of our friends decided to take Dawn out for lunch.

We went to JD’s Seafood. Dawn had her favorite, a burger.

I wasn’t all that hungry so I ordered the BLT. That was a mistake! That sandwich had a pound of bacon on it!

We always have a good time when we’re with our friends!
Later in the day Dawn and I ran to Wal-Mart to pick up a few totes. We’re doing some spring cleaning and reorganizing all the cupboards.

When we arrived home we found this sign hanging on our fence. We have some real jokesters around here.

The sun came out late in the day and Dawn decided to sit outside and enjoy the pleasant weather. She wasn’t outside very long when a group of our winter friends showed up to sing happy birthday.

Our friends Jim & Marsha pulled out this morning heading back to Minnesota. They had to leave early this year due to Marsha’s father being ill. We will miss them.

This afternoon I took Dawn to Corpus Christie to PF Chang’s for lunch. We shared an order of lettuce wraps before having our lunch. It was wonderful.

After lunch we walked around the mall and window shopped. We did buy a really cute birdhouse.

Lunch, Dinner and Friends

It's been a real whirlwind around here. Let's see, where do I start?

Our friends Marty and Gloria came over for a visit. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and a few laughs. It's great being able to visit with friends from our hometown.

Dawn and I were invited to join our friends Jim, Marsha, Dave and Kathy for dinner at Redfish Willies Waterfront Grill in Aransas Pass.

We had a great time visiting with them.

Thursday we had our monthly ladies luncheon. We, all 15 of us went to Butter Churn for a buffet lunch. It's always a lot of fun when we get together for our luncheons.

Friday night we had a fish & shrimp fry here at the park. everyone brought a covered dish. Steve and Barry cooked fish, while Bob cooked shrimp. It was a delicious dinner.

Seems like we sure eat a lot! We do and a meal is always better when shared with friends.

New Landing Leg Foot Pads

Rockport, Texas
Saltwater Flats RV Resort
Weather Condition; High 73 Low 58, Sunny

Our time is almost over. We have been trying to take care of a few things that needed to be done before we once again hit the road.
First thing on that list of To-Do’s, replacing the foot pads of our front landing legs.

Last summer we used our plastic orange blocked under the foot pads of the landing legs. I knew better but did it anyway. The weight of the trailer and the heat of the summer made the plastic of the orange blocks soft. That caused the foot pads to bend. They were bent badly enough to cause the trailer to be a bit wobbly.
I checked with several RV supply place in this area and could not find the replacements I needed. I got online and looked around too. I ran across a site on the internet etrailers. com. They had the exact foot pads I needed. The price was great too. I paid $10.00 each and shipping was not much at all.

I order the foot pads and received them in the mail a few days later.

I had to hook the trailer up to the truck and retracted the legs. I pulled the pin holding the foot pad on the leg and dropped the old foot pad off.

I put the new ones one and replaced the pin. I lowered the legs and disconnected from the truck.

The front of the trailer is more stable now.

Our neighbors have a nice setup at their. Free fresh donuts!
