Southern
Texas
Weather
Conditions; Rainy, 78 degrees
We
landed in Daingerfield at Daingerfield State Park and spent 9 days.
The first 7
days we spent with friends that were also camping at Daingerfield.
We
had a great time visiting with some very close friends.
Dawn and I took a drive to Mena to check out the fall colors. It is always a beautiful drive.
We
did a few chores too.
Dawn
and I also made a visit to 5 D Steakhouse in Avinger, Texas.
They
have the BEST Bar B Q. They pile your plates full. I highly recommend this
place to anyone who travels into this area.
We
were keeping an eye on the weather so we could travel south without driving in
the storms that were predicted near our departure time.
After
talking with some of our winter Texas friends we decided to pull out of
Daingerfield a day early.
We
left Daingerfield on Wednesday afternoon and drove to Corsicana, Texas.
In
Corsicana we met up with friends Peter and Judy.
We
stayed 1 night at American RV on Hwy 31.
It
wasn’t a bad park but 1 night is about all I could handle. The traffic noise
from Hwy 31 and the constant traffic in the park was a little much.
While
in Corsicana Dawn and I had dinner at the Old Mexico Inn. Wednesday night is enchilada
night. We ordered the Wednesday special.
WOW!
Two enchiladas, beans and rice for $3.99. It was very good.
Oh
and the margaritas where $1.75!!!!
We
pulled out of Corsicana a little before 10:00 A.M following Peter and Judy moving
south to our next stop.
